Varicose veins are a frequently encountered medical and cosmetic ailment, which to this day continues to challenge the ingenuity of the medical profession. Phlebology is a branch of medicine, which deals primarily with varicose vein disease and it is changing rapidly as it demands constant innovation. The Vein & Laser Clinic founded in 1992 under the direction of Dr. Ferdinand Stasiak, has since then established itself in the forefront of the treatment of varicose vein disease in British Columbia.  Extensive knowledge and experience acquired treating thousands of patients allows the facility to offer many advanced and innovative techniques.

The Vein & Laser Clinic was the first to offer ultrasound-guided treatments in British Columbia and in October 2002, it was also first in Canada to perform a major breakthrough in the treatment of varicose vein disease called EVLT or Endo-Venous Laser Treatment. The procedure offers a minimally invasive alternative to stripping by using an ultrasound guided laser fiber to seal the saphenous vein trunk from the inside. The remaining branches can subsequently be removed with micro-incisions or sclerosed with injections. None of these treatments require hospitalization and produce excellent clinical and cosmetic results with minimal risk, scarring or downtime. It is exceedingly rewarding for Dr. Stasiak to have his patients express joyful gratitude for being able to walk around again in total comfort and free of the relentless burden of varicose veins.
